New Vision for the Neumarkt in Solingen
Redesign of the Signal Iduna House with rotunda in Solingen goes into planning
Plans for a modification and addition of storeys to the Signal Iduna House and the neighbouring rotunda in Solingen city centre have been in place since the beginning of the year. Sam Jordan, Managing Director of the Solingen real estate company "raumvision by msd immobilien GmbH" has now announced us as the winner of the architect selection process for the redesign of the central building on Neumarkt. We are currently working on concrete planning. "I am delighted that our project is now becoming precise with the green visions of greeen! architects," says Sam Jordan. The plan is to raise the building ensemble, the façade will open up to the surroundings, green elements will give the building a new appearance and enhance the marketplace. "We are looking forward to this challenging task. The extraordinary building ensemble has a high potential to give the Solingen urban space a new face," explains Marc Böhnke of "greeen! architects". In addition to the extension and modernisation, a rooftop bar is planned on the roof of the main building, from which a breathtaking view over Solingen will be possible. A conversion is planned while the building is in operation: the Alexander Apotheke, the Volksbank and the Café Markttreff will remain in the building during the conversion. The next milestone is the submission of the building application before the end of this year.
