Our proposal for the restructuring of the Heinrich-Heine-Platz in Düsseldorf

The Heinrich-Heine-Platz in front of the Carschhaus in Düsseldorf is supposed to be redesigned.

On Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, a public workshop on the restructuring of the Heinrich-Heine-Platz will be held by the state capital Düsseldorf. All residents, property owners, stakeholders and citizens will get the opportunity to find out about various concepts. Together with specialist planners and representatives of the city administration, all parties can contribute their ideas for the Heinrich-Heine-Platz.

Our design, which we developed on behalf of Forum Stadt-Marketing e.V., will also be up for discussion. Today's situation represents an almost insurmountable barrier for visitors to the city centre. Our vision for the reconstruction of Heinrich-Heine-Platz: The transformation of a pure infrastructure node into a public place with urban qualities and a good pedestrian connection between Königsallee and Altstadt. Primarily, the transformation is achieved by consistently separating road traffic from pedestrian traffic. The flow of traffic on the road is liquefied aboveground via a roundabout. Pedestrians will be able to cross the road via the lower, naturally illuminated and ventilated level.
