Video clip about our three hotels and the new pedestrian zone at Düsseldorf main station
Take a look at this video about our three hotels and the new pedestrian zone at Düsseldorf main station. Mario Reale, managing partner of greeen! architects, explains our urban development concept in detail.
The "gateway to the city" of Düsseldorf is getting renewed. There, our three new international hotels with a new pedestrian zone will be built directly at the main station. Construction work on the three hotels Adina, Premier Inn and Hampton by Hilton Hotel have already begun. Construction will be completed by the end of 2021.
The 17,000 square metre site, was used by the railway as a car loading station until a few years ago, is the result of the urban planning competition organized by GBI AG and Düsseldorf, from which our design was chosen as the winner.
The hotel trio complements each other perfectly with a variety of offers. The Adina Apartment Hotel Düsseldorf (201 rooms) is suitable for business customers, families and tourists who prefer a stay in a fully equipped studio or large apartment. The Hampton by Hilton Düsseldorf City Centre (219 rooms) is a hotel in the Focused Service segment and is aimed at value-oriented and quality-conscious business travelers and tourists. As a premium economy hotel, the Premier Inn (297 rooms) is designed for leisure and business guests who appreciate a good price-performance ratio and comfortable facilities. The underground car park with 238 spaces operated by APCOA is shared by all hotels and can also be used by the public. The steak restaurant BLOCK HOUSE will welcome its guests on 450 square meters with 117 seats inside and a terrace.
A particular focus of our concept for the three Düsseldorf hotels is to upgrade the central location and integrate all three squares around the main station (Mintropplatz, Harkortplatz, Konrad-Adenauer-Platz) into urban life. The previously unused potential of the area will be activated in this way, so that the city and its citizens will regain a new, high-quality quarter. This will generate positive impulses for the entire urban environment. The hotel restaurants are designed architecturally and with the outdoor gastronomy in such a way that the hotel quarter grows into the area. Friedrichstadt and Bilk will be connected with the upgraded station forecourt and will generate positive impulses in the entire urban environment.
