Info

The two sites are located in the very centre of Heiligenhaus close to the town hall. The context consists of various small scale buildings and the predominant Church of St. Suitbertus. Therefore one of the design’s main intention was to integrate the new building complex into an existing urban situation without rupture in terms of scale and identity which led to a fragmented architectural composition. The southern building facing the main road allows to develop an expressive form and gives a clearly defined identity to the corner situation. Moving north into the central part of the site the building’s organization and design shifts towards the green, park-like courtyard. The residential units are flexible and contemporary with a spacious floor plan. Each unit has at least a balcony/loggia and almost all of them are handicap accessible complying to state building code.
