Info

The conversion of brownfield into other forms of land use has been a present topic in contemporary European city planning for some time. The increasing number of brownfields in urban areas enable cities to reuse these sites as a new form of land reclamation. The transformation of brownfields in residential, office or cultural areas is for all cities not only a great economic opportunity, but also brings ecological chances. Existing infrastructures can be used immediately and reduce transportation issues related to cities and their CO2 emissions: The first step towards a future orientated and ecological urban planning.
