Ville Campus Erftstadt wins 2nd place at the polis Award in the category “Ecological Reality”

We have great news from last night. After being recognized as a Klima Quartier NRW, can we be even prouder? Yes.

We are very proud of this achievement. Our timber construction campus sets a benchmark for ecological reality.

We build using pure timber and follow the Cradle to Cradle® principle, with DGNB Gold certification. All buildings operate on fossil-free energy. Each building exceeds the EH40 standard by an additional 30 percent. Instead of generating CO2 emissions, we achieve long-term CO2 savings.

The project contributes to increasing student housing in Germany. We are aware of the nationwide shortage of student accommodation, with only around 240,700 publicly funded student housing units available. With 528 apartments, we are helping to shape a different future for students.

The Ville Campus in Erftstadt, along with other projects, demonstrates that ecology should be at the center of development. Sustainability is not a dogma. It is our responsibility to the world and to Germany.

We would like to quote Dr. Christine Lemaitre on our project:
“… this demonstrates that a consistently sustainable approach is indeed possible here … The jury particularly recognized the project's scale as remarkable. A project of this size is not only implemented efficiently, but also understood as a model for climate-friendly construction.”

We would like to thank our client. Without their trust in sustainable architecture and in us, this would not have been possible.

We also thank our greeen! team, who delivered this project from the very beginning with precision, inspiration, efficiency and a strong ecological focus.

Finally, we thank all our partners who, together with us, have made this project possible and are helping to establish Erftstadt as a flagship for ecology, living and learning.
